At the 11th Deep-sea Biology Symposium held in Southampton, Goa in India was selected as the site for the 12th Deep-sea Biology Symposium. Due to unexpected difficulties in India it was decided to move the symposium to Iceland, where it will be hosted by the University of Iceland. The convener is Professor Jörundur Svavarsson, University of Iceland.
